In this example we harmonize the D Dorian mode with the Dm7 and Em7 chords. If you look at the top note of each voicing, you'll recoginze the D Dorian / C major scale. So when comping you can combine both chords : quite easy and efficient technique to add movement ! Last chord I played is a Dm9 just to 'finish' the progression, but it works too !
