Over a mixolydian groove/vamp we can use various pentatonic scales within the same key and so we get different and subtle colors or flavours .
All major scales have 3 minor 7th chords/degrees ( II, III, VI ) and so 3 minor pentatonic scales.
In our example I play over a E7 chord/vamp, we are in the key of A major so we can use the Bm, C#m & F#m minor pentatonic scales.
AM7 Bm7 C#m7 DM7 E7 F#m7 G#m7b5
On top of that we can obviously add the Em pentatonic scale, maybe the one that eveyone will play over an E7 chord !
